The festivals continue around West Michigan this weekend. We also have concerts, sports, extreme sports, and free root beer floats!

There are plenty of activities for all ages. No matter where you are in West Michigan there is something to do!

    Meijer State Games of Michigan

    Cost: Spectator Event Passes start at $10.00

    The signature event of the West Michigan Sports Commission, the Meijer State Games of Michigan is a multi-sport, Olympic-style event that welcomes athletes regardless of age or ability. There will be 48 different sports that will be featured. Like the Olympics, the Meijer State Games include an Opening Ceremony that allows thousands of spectators to witness the Parade of Athletes, Lighting of the Cauldron and experience great entertainment. The Opening Ceremony will be on Friday, August 4th, at 7:30 pm at the Van Andel Arena in downtown Grand Rapids.

    Entertainment this weekend at the Coast Guard Festival includes Who’s Bad, a Michael Jackson tribute artist on Friday. On Saturday it’s the Meijer Grand Parade, Face to Face -- an Elton John and Billy Joel tribute show, and the big fireworks show. The Festival wraps up on Sunday with Worship on the Waterfront. The downtown carnival and ship tours run through Saturday.

    Funky Buddha Fest

    The 3rd Annual Funky Buddha Fest is back with live music from local musicians starting Thursday, August 3 to Saturday, August 5. Flow to live music in their Easttown Studio on Thursday, then outdoors on the rooftop of 820 Monroe on Friday, and finally in Rosa Parks Circle for the Funky Buddha Fest Grand Finale on Saturday!
