Tulip Time continues in Holland, we will have a gathering of Food Trucks in two different locations, there will be Baseball Games, The Symphony will perform, it’s the Fifth Third River Bank Run, there are tiny trees, two events at dog parks, and the biggest event -- Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Some activities include the kids, while others are more for the adults.

    Celebrate the joy, tradition and beauty that is Tulip Time. Events on the schedule this weekend include the Carnival, the Tall Ship Dockside Tours, The Beach Boys (on Friday), the Muziekparade (on Saturday), and Fireworks on Saturday night.

    After last year's successful Food Truck Fridays, they have extended the season and will be running for 16 weeks this summer. This year they have expanded and partnered with the Grand Rapids Food Truck Association to bring you the best group of trucks we can arrange. They will be setting up near the start of the disc golf course. All trucks in attendance take credit cards, and have a variety of options including gluten free and vegan.

    The West Michigan Whitecaps take on the Burlington Bees this Thursday through Saturday. Every Thursday it’s $2.00 20 oz. beers, $2.00 hot dogs and $2.00 Pepsi products. Also, every Thursday is a College Night. Show a college or military ID and get a reserved seat for $5. Plus this Thursday there will be a Food Truck Rally On Friday, it’s Pokemon Night. Pikachu, Charmander, and Squirtle will be in attendance and are available to photos on the concourse throughout the game. Mad Chad, Chainsaw Juggler will be in attendance showing off his incredible juggling skills including juggling 3 running chainsaws as his grand finale! And on Saturday, it is the Replica Championship Ring Giveaway, presented By Fifth Third Bank, for the first 1,000 fans through the gate. There will also be Family Fare Fireworks after the game.

    Fifth Third River Bank Run

    The Fifth Third Bank River Bank Run, presented by Amway with Spectrum Health the Official Health Partner, will celebrate 41 years of road running on Saturday. More than 17,000 people are expected to compete in the event which features the largest 25K road race in the country and offers the only 25K Wheelchair racing division in the world along with a 25K Handcycle division. The USA 25 km Open Championships will run concurrently with the 25K event. In addition to the 25K, participants can choose from the 25K Relay, 10K Run, 5K Run, Team Competition, and the 5K Community Walk.

    If you like to take your dog to the Covell Dog Park, come out this weekend and help them do some spring cleaning! They will be raking and picking up the brush around the park and picking up any trash that is in or around the fence! They also will be getting a truckload of wood chips from the city, so lots of help will be needed for that! If you have your own rake, shovel, etc please bring that! They will only have a few!

    Many restaurants will be offering up a Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday. Also, Mothers can play Mini-Golf for Free at Craig’s Cruisers from 11:00 am-9:00 pm on Mother’s Day. It’s Free Pie for Mom on Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Grand Traverse Pie Company. Also, there will be Free Admission for Mom’s on Sunday from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm at the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum.
