    Find out which artist entries will take home part of the $500,000 in cash prizes. The big announcement of the winners will happen on Friday, October 6th at 7:30 pm. The ceremony will take place at 20 Monroe Live. ArtPrize visitors and fans can watch the ceremony live on WOOD TV-8 and on the big screen at Rosa Parks Circle. The art pieces will remain up through the weekend so that you can come down and check them out.

    It’s time to put on your red and celebrate your Polish heritage. (Everyone is Polish during Pulaski Days!). Several halls will have events happening all weekend long. It’s an opportunity to get some great Polish food as well. The Parade will be on Saturday morning, starting at 11:00 am. The Parade will go down Fulton Street from Lexington Avenue down to the John Ball Zoo.

    Be sure to wear red when you visit Cedar Springs for their 78th Red Flannel Festival. If you are not wearing red you could be arrested by the Keystone Kops! Activities are scheduled through Saturday. The Red Flannel Grand Parade will be on Saturday beginning at 3 pm. There will be more than 120 entries in the Parade.

    The 2017 Calder Cup Champion Grand Rapids Griffins kick off their 2017-2018 season this weekend at the Van Andel Arena. They will be hosting the Manitoba Moose. Opening night on Friday will feature $2 beers and $2 hot dogs and the raising of the 2017 Calder Cup banner.

    Founding member of Foreigner Mike Jones is reuniting original band members for this 40th Anniversary celebration. One of the highlights of this tour was a handful of surprise appearances by original band members Lou Gramm, Dennis Elliott, Al Greenwood, Ian McDonald and Rick Wills at various stops along the tour. Inspired by these individual appearances, Foreigner will be joined by original members on stage for this two night special event (Saturday night’s concert is SOLD OUT). This special event will be recorded for a forthcoming 2018 TV special, DVD and accompanying album release.

Proceeds from this family & dog friendly 5K and 1 Mile fun run/walk benefit the animals in need at the Humane Society of West Michigan -- a 100% donor funded 501(c)3 non-profit that promotes humane treatment and responsible care of animals in West Michigan through education, example, placement, and protection. Participants have the opportunity to raise additional donations to support these animals. After the race, stick around for the post-race celebration featuring a beer tent and food!
