The Michigan State High School Football Playoffs continue with the District Championships tonight in eight divisions. And, as usual, the Grand Rapids area is well represented.

In Division 1Hudsonville (7-3), fresh off a late rally to defeat East Kentwood will travel to Rockford (7-3), who continues to notch wins for verteran coach Ralph Munger.

In Division 2, Byron Center (8-2) ventures out to Lowell (9-1), where the winner gets the unenviable task of taking on the Muskegon-Mona Shores winner.

Division 3 features Zeeland East (7-3) at East Grand Rapids (7-3). Their only common opponent is Muskegon who beat East Grand Rapids 56-28, and Zeeland East 47-6.

Division 4 has a huge West Michigan representation with emerging power Forest Hills Eastern the favorite to get past the regional stage. The 9-1 Hawks will host Comstock Park tonight in what will be their greatest test since losing by 2 to rival Forest Hills Northern.

Also in the Division 4 is defending champion Zeeland West (10-0), which takes on Cinderella story Benton Harbor (6-4). Benton Harbor had won only four times in five years prior to former WMU coach Elliot Uzelac taking over and leading them to their first ever playoff berth.

The winner of that game will take on the winner of the Hudsonville Unity Christian (7-3)-Grand Rapids Catholic Central (9-1) tilt which will take place at Grand Rapids Christian.

In Division 5, defending champion Grand Rapids West Catholic (8-2) is still alive, but they have a tough test on the road tonight at Reed City (10-0), who's been pounding opponents by an average of over thirty points a game.

NorthPointe Christian (10-0) made it to the state semi-finals a year ago, and they would like nothing better than to get another shot to make it to Ford Field. They'll host Lakeshore power Montague (10-0) in what should be an offensive fireworks display at NorthPointe's field.
