Adam Sandler appeared on the Late Show last night to perform a singing sendoff to David Letterman as he nears the end of his longtime run on late night TV.

Adam Sandler began singing goofy songs back when he was on Saturday Night Live, and since then, some, like the ubiquitous 'Thanksgiving Song', refuse to go away.

I don't think this one will become a standard, but it was heartfelt and touching to hear him send off David in a way only Sandler could.

Sandler references CBS President Les Moonves, Paul Schaffer and former Letterman nemesis Jay Leno in the song, which celebrates Letterman's long career on late night television, which comes to an end with his last show on CBS May 20.
