On Saturday, Jan. 27, hundreds are expected to compete in the Michigan Adventure Race: Winter Edition at Camp Roger in Rockford.

Exactly how much snow will be at the winter race remains to be seen.

It's the seventh year for the race which organizers say is the largest winter adventure race in the country.

Two and three-person teams will run through the woods to hidden checkpoints marked on a map to collect as many points as they can in three hours. "Amazing Race"-like challenges, including short snowshoe and snow bike sections, are planned. Snowshoes and fat bikes will be provided.

New and experienced racers can choose between close checkpoints and checkpoints which are further and more challenging.
