Everybody loves a dog. Ok, not everybody, but we’re just going to ignore those people.

So what kind of pooch does America love most?

Well, according to the American Kennel Club, that will once again be the Labrador Retriever.

The breed, which is intelligent and family friendly, is the United States' top dog for the 24th consecutive year, the longest reign of any breed in AKC history.

Another popular dog this year is the Bulldog, which has nabbed its highest spot on the list ever, at number four, while the French Bulldog has broken into the top 10 at number nine. It is the first time in nearly 100 years that the French Bulldog has landed so high.

"The Lab truly is America's dog,"AKC Vice President Gina DiNardo said, "but the lovable Bulldog breeds are clamoring to dominate. Watch out for an upset next year."

One dog declining in popularity is apparently the Dachshund, which is at number 11. This is the first time since 1985 that it didn’t make the top 10 list of breeds.
