I went 5-0 again last week, getting the spread on the Michigan-Michigan State tussle dead on at four points. But, remember, these picks are only for fun, no wagering. Unless it's a five game parlay.

Let me begin this week by encouraging you to take in some local college football if you get a chance. Beyond the big boys, Michigan and Michigan State, most games are relatively inexpensive to go to and the atmosphere is fantastic.

On to the predictions...

Indiana at 7th ranked Michigan State, 3:30pm Saturday, Spartan Stadium, East Lansing --To say that was an emotional victory last week in Ann Arbor would be a huge understatement. Lucky for the Spartans, the home crowd will be there to carry them through a potential trap game with an explosive Indiana team. This could get hairy if Sparty doesn't keep on point, but Mark D'Antonio won't let that happen. MSU 37, Indiana 20

Michigan is off this week.

Central Michigan (3-4) at Ball State (2-5), 3:00pm Saturday, Scheumann Stadium, Muncie, Indiana -- Central can get right back into the thick of the MAC West title chase with a win over the struggling Cardinals. It was the exact same situation the Chips were in last year when the Cards stunned them at Mt. Pleasant, and it's time to repay that debt. CMU 22, Ball State 14

Miami of Ohio (1-6) at Western Michigan (3-3), 2:00pm Saturday, Waldo Stadium, Kalamazoo -- Although there are few patsies in the MAC West Division, Miami's Red Hawks is one of them. The Broncos should roll, staying pace with Toledo in the chase for the title. WMU 42, Miami 17

Findlay (Ohio) (4-3)  at Grand Valley State (6-1), 7:00pm Saturday, Lubbers Stadium, Allendale -- The Oilers gave conference leader Ferris State everything they could handle a couple of weeks ago, so this isn't a gimme for the Lakers. Luckily, the homecoming crowd at Lubbers Stadium will be fired up for the big game, and GVSU slips by to stay in contention for a Division II playoff berth. GVSU 33, Findlay 28

Michigan Tech (5-1) at Ferris State (6-0) 12 noon Saturday, Top Taggert Field, Big Rapids -- If this were being played at Tech's place in the UP, I would be worried, but Ferris is tough at home, and Tech is just getting to the hard part of their schedule. Look for the Bulldogs to ring it up. Ferris 50, Tech 27
