It's back! The 2012 Michigan Pirate Festival is back in West Michigan at the Loutit District Library in Grand Haven this week. "Talk Like a Pirate" day is in September, but there will be plenty of "Arrrghs" and "Walk The Plank" heard around the Lake Michigan shoreline when pirates sail into the area on the Grand River at Harbor Island. Wonder if we will see Jack Sparrow? (Actually we will! Jack, Princess Buttercup, Capt. Hook and Peter Pan will all be at this year's fest) Johnny Depp? Maybe even Michael Bolton?

The festival drew over 4,000 people last year, and this year's event will be bigger and better! More pirate reenactors and a longer event should bring more people to town. Plus, the weather is supposed to be perfect this year! Low to mid 80's and little rain! Pirates hate rain. Really. Plus you can't beat the price...it's FREE most of the week!

This year's theme is "Pirates Thru the Ages," and with events all week, you can get your Pirate on, without having to go to the Caribbean! Arrrgh!
