January 21, 2013 A bench clearing brawl and a funny Jumbotron shot--celebrating the first weekend of the NHL season! Except the brawl wasn't in an NHL arena. It was in Rockford with the Griffins involved! The highest scoring game in 4 seasons and a penalty-filled bench clearing brawl gave the fans in attendance something else to cheer for besides goals and free t-shirts!

January 17, 2013 The whole WFGR staff is getting in on this one! Matt and I started talking about this yesterday. Conrad Bain from "Diff'rent Strokes" died Monday, and we started talking about babes from other 80's shows--mostly Facts of Life. I thought Blair and Tootie we're cute. And then Andy and Dave were talking about it as well.
January 16, 2013 Have to say, Channel 13's Facebook post pretty much sums it up for me. "Never would have guessed that Mrs. Garrett would have outlived them all! RIP, Mr. Drummond" Conrad Bain, who also starred on Maude in the 1970's, passed away yesterday in California. He was 89.
January 16, 2013 Like some kids, I had a job during college. I was lucky enough to work at a radio station while I was in school to make some extra cash. SI had grants and loans to actually pay for school however. Some kids of course have to pay for their own college. But this is 2013. Kids around MSU and UofM have found a new, more creative way to get their tuition taken care of.

January 15, 2013 Today is National Hat Day. Why I'm not sure. But it is. And the good folks at Arby's want you to help them make the 10 gallon hat "America's Only National Hat" Some might remember that all Arby's used to have the 10 Gallon hat sign as their logo outside most locations. I still remember the old sign at the South Westnedge Arby's in Portage...all lit up and cool. Some places still have the old Arby's signs.
