July 21, 2011 So the Lexington Lions Club Bluegrass Fair in Lexington Kentucky decided to have a dunk tank. No biggie. A dunk tank at a carnival or fair is as old as the bearded lady or corn dogs. And in the heat we have been having, it might be a refreshing way to stay cool.
July 21, 2011 Are you like me...do you get into a rut? I eat the same cereal for weeks at a time, or I take the same way to work everyday. TV Networks seem to have the same problem. They develop the same basic types of shows. And I'm not talking all "reality" shows, I'm talking about the specific networks. Let me explain.

Wait for next week to mow that lawn or take that run. Stay Hydrated! Drink plenty of water and stay places where it's cooler, even in the shade can be 10 degrees cooler than in the direct sunlight...

July 19, 2011 Chris Osgood, the second-winningest goaltender in Red Wings history, will announce his retirement on Tuesday, a source confirmed to Booth Newspapers on Monday. That's pretty huge. Say what you will about Ozzie...he did win 3 Cups and a whole lot of games for the Wings.
July 19, 2011 OK, so unless you are in the AC 24/7 and don't ever leave the house, (or work for that matter) It's been kinda hot out. Understatement of the year. It is supposed to be over 90 every day this week, the heat index is going to be well over 100, and the low tomorrow night is 81. We have had plenty of HIGH temps of 81!
July 18, 2011 If you are a college hockey fan, or even just a hockey fan in Michigan, you have probably heard that Michigan and Michigan State's hockey programs are leaving the CCHA for the newly created Big Ten Hockey Conference. That leaves schools like Western and Ferris State without a place to play in the next couple of years.

July 18, 2011 The annual Chicago to Mackinac boat race has a winner, and also has lost two racers. West Michiganders Doug and Dick DeVos were the first boat to finish the race, but with complicated scoring they might not win.
Two other racers ended up not being so lucky.
July 15, 2011 Grand Rapids has been named one of RelocateAmerica.com‘s Top 100 Places to Live for 2011. GR is only one of two Michigan cities (the other being Ann Arbor) to be on the list this year. Of Course.
