I Grew up Petoskey Michigan... and for the last 13 years - have made Grand Rapids my home. I love it here, and  the people are great too. I started in Radio as as a teenager, and going on my 14th year in radio in West Michigan!   I've lived in all four "Quadrants" of Grand Rapids, but now reside on the West Side with my Dog, two cats, 13 pinball machines and my grand piano.  Love hockey, football, auto racing, playing the piano, singing, live music, theater and being outdoors - and love exploring West Michigan and new places.    I'm THRILLED to be on Classic Hits 98-7 from 10-3 Every day.   Drop me a line anytime!

‘Happy Days’ by Pratt and McClain – Classic Hit or Miss

Truett Pratt grew up in San Antonio, Texas and sang in his church choir. Jerry McClain also sang in the choir in his hometown of Pasadena, California. McClain formed his first band, American Scene, with Michael Omartian in the mid-1960s. In 1970, Omartian began a successful record producing career, eventually recording hits for Michael Bolton, Christopher Cross, Donna Summer, Rod Stewart, Amy Grant, Gary Chapman, and 4HIM, among others. In the early 1970s he introduced McClain to Pratt. They formed a band called Brother Love, and began recording commercial jingles.

‘Dukes of Hazzard (Good Ole Boys)’ by Waylon Jennings – Classic Hit or Miss

As the narrator for the 1975 movie, Moonrunners, Jennings was tapped to serve in the same capacity for The Dukes of Hazzard which premiered on CBS in 1979 and was based on Moonrunners. Jennings wrote the theme song for the show and recorded two versions: the television theme version and a slightly different version made commercially available on both single and album which received radio airplay.

‘WKRP in Cincinnati’ – Classic Hit Or Miss

WKRP had two musical themes, one opening and the other closing the show. The opening theme, called "WKRP In Cincinnati Main Theme", was composed by Tom Wells, with lyrics by series creator Hugh Wilson, and performed by Steve Carlisle. An urban legend had circulated at the time that Richard Sanders (who had comparable vocal characteristics to Carlisle) had actually recorded the song. Wilson stated in the commentary for the first season's DVD set that this was simply not true. (Sanders would later sing a parody of the opening song done to the beat of U2's "Numb" for a promo of "The New WKRP in Cincinnati" on VH1.)
