I Grew up Petoskey Michigan... and for the last 13 years - have made Grand Rapids my home. I love it here, and  the people are great too. I started in Radio as as a teenager, and going on my 14th year in radio in West Michigan!   I've lived in all four "Quadrants" of Grand Rapids, but now reside on the West Side with my Dog, two cats, 13 pinball machines and my grand piano.  Love hockey, football, auto racing, playing the piano, singing, live music, theater and being outdoors - and love exploring West Michigan and new places.    I'm THRILLED to be on Classic Hits 98-7 from 10-3 Every day.   Drop me a line anytime!

‘Nikita’ by Elton John – Classic Hit or Miss

Nikita" is a song by English singer Elton John about the Cold War from his 1985 album Ice on Fire. Released late in the year, the song was successful in many countries and was a top ten hit in almost all of them. In the song, Elton John describes his crush on a beautiful East German border guard whom he cannot meet because he is not allowed into the country. It features George Michael on backing vocals, and is notable for a distinctive synthesizer solo. The song charted at #3 on the UK Singles Chart and also made the top 10 in the US, charting at #7.

‘Stand Tall’ by Burton Cummings – Classic Hit or Miss

In 1975 Cummings left The Guess Who after 10 years to become a solo artist, and the group disbanded. One of his first projects included providing back-up vocals on Eric Carmen's second solo LP, Boats Against the Current, including "She Did It." Cummings' subsequent solo hits in Canada included "Stand Tall," which was his greatest American solo hit, peaking at #10 on the Hot 100 and number two on the Adult Contemporary chart .Other hits included: "I'm Scared," "Break it to Them Gently," and "Fine State of Affairs." Cummings charted outside Canada with "Stand Tall" and "You Saved My Soul."

‘Sweet Life’ by Paul Davis – Classic Hit or Miss

Davis was a member of a local group called the Six Soul Survivors around 1966 and later in another group called the Endless Chain. In 1968 he was a writer for Malaco Records, based in Jackson, Mississippi. Davis signed to Bang Records in 1969, and in 1970, released a cover version of The Jarmels' hit song "A Little Bit of Soap", reaching No. 52 on the Billboard pop charts. His first album, A Little Bit of Paul Davis, was released in 1970. In 1974, he recorded his third album, Ride 'Em Cowboy, and the title track, his first top 40 single, peaked at No. 23 on 18 January 1975. The same song also became a Top 40 Country hit for Juice Newton in 1984.
