A just-launched AutoTrader campaign is using "The Dukes of Hazzard" to promote its online tools.

Go figure! But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

The ad campaign features Tom Wopat and John Schneider, the original actors from "The Dukes of Hazzard" who played cousins Bo Duke and Luke Duke in the CBS-TV series that ran from January 1979 to February 1985.

Sorry, boys, but there's no Daisy Duke (played by Catherine Bach) in the campaign. (Bummer, I know!)

The action-packed advertising-marketing effort reprises the original elements of "The Dukes of Hazzard." While on the run from the county sheriff, cousins Bo and Luke Duke realize they need a new vehicle. Amid jumping through barns and outrunning the sheriff, the Duke boys utilize AutoTrader's mobile shopping tools -- including text alerts and search/save functions -- to find the perfect vehicle for their mad-cap adventures .

The piece was directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Janusz Kaminski -- I'm not making this up. The campaign includes TV, radio, mobile billboards and broadcast, digital and social media and public relations in what AutoTrader says it its "most extensive marketing campaign ever."

There was a TV reunion movie in 1997 and there was also a movie -- with a different cast -- that came out in 2005, but those just weren't as good as the original TV show. Nope.
