Your beer may not be fashionable these days. Are you losing any sleep over this?

Beverage giant Anheuser-Busch Inbev made a more than $100-billion offer last month to buy its main competitor, SABMiller. The resulting company will be – by far – the largest beer beverage company in the world, with annual sales of more than $55-billion.

The offer was made because it’s a weird world out there and Anheuser-Busch wants to stay ahead of the game. How weird is it? Well, huge names like Budweiser and Miller High Life have seen sales drop by more than 25% over the past five years.

But, those aren’t even the two biggest sob stories.

Sales of Bud Select have dropped 60%, sales of Milwaukee’s Best have gone down 56% and sales of Miller Genuine Draft have crashed 55%. These are big names of big beers that people just aren’t drinking anymore.

Don’t worry. Beer is still being chugged and money is still being made. Picking up the slack are such beers as Modelo Especial and Stella Artois, which have seen their sales more than double over the past half-decade.

Me? I just stick with my local breweries like Founder's and Brewery Vivant – it tastes better and helps “the little guy!”

Just like clothing styles and television shows, you just kind of “outgrow” certain beers, don’t you?

Any embarrassing beers -- or other boozy drinks -- from your past that you’d never touch today? Is it because you’re rich enough to buy the good stuff these days? Or… Is it because you grew up and now realize that these beers taste like toilet water?
