Rock icons Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band shaked down a sold-out Van Andel Arena on Tuesday night, on the road in support of Seger’s first new studio album in eight years, “Ride Out.”

Also appearing was The J. Geils Band.

“Ride Out,” Seger’s first studio album in eight years, was released Oct. 14. The tour is Seger’s most extensive since his 2006-7 Face The Promise Tour and is his first since 2011.

Seger, a 69-year-old Lincoln Park native, sprang onto the rock music scene in the early 1960s, and was a major part of that rock-and-roll movement that spanned the psychedelic '60s and the stylized '70s.

He and The Silver Bullet Band brought their iconic roosty Michigan style -- with Seger having sprang on to the rock-and-roll music scene in the 1960s and being a big part of the rock movement spanning the psychedelic '60s and stylized '70s -- to town for a rabid Grand Rapids audience.
