UPDATE: (5:00 p.m.) Teleka Patrick's family has told WZZM-13 that they are "in mourning assuming the body may be that of Teleka."

UPDATE: (4:25 p.m.) The Patrick family has released a statement saying that they still don't know for certain that the body found is that of the missing Kalamazoo woman:

Our family was informed that a body was found that may be our daughter Teleka Patrick. We are waiting for official confirmation from the Kalamazoo Sheriff's Department and have no comment at this time. Thank you for your continued prayers - we ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time.

(3:45 p.m.) The body of missing Kalamazoo doctor Teleka Patrick has possibly been located in a lake in Indiana near where her car was found abandoned.

Authorities have not yet officially identified the body pulled from Lake Charles in Indiana on Sunday morning. However, Patrick’s mother confirmed to WOOD-TV8 that it was her daughter's body.

On Sunday morning around 7:10 a.m. a man fishing on Lake Charles noticed something suspicious floating in the water and called the police.

The Indiana State police SCUBA team and Porter, Indiana Fire and Rescue came to the scene and pulled the body of a woman dressed in dark clothing from the water, according to an official press release.

An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.

Teleka Patrick, 30, was last seen on Dec. 5, 2013 in the parking lot of Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. Her car was found later that night off I-94 near Porter, Indiana. Authorities believed that she was headed to Chicago to visit a relative.

Authorities searched Lake Charles in January when it was still frozen over, but did not find anything related to the case at that time.
