If you live in Belding, the Ionia County Health Department has sent out an advisory to boil your water because traces of E. Coli was found in the water.

FOX 17 reports that the advisory was issued Friday afternoon after a quality test report came back indicating presence of E. Coli. How much exactly is in the water is unknown but follow-up tests are being conducted to find out the levels.

Before you drink the water, take a shower, do laundry or anything else that involves using the water... please make sure to boil it first (for at least one minute) until otherwise told it's safe.

According to the Mayo Clinic, E. Coli symptoms can include diarrhea, nausea, cramping and/or vomitting.

The Ionia County Health Department posted on their Facebook page that there is no reason to panic at this time.

If you have any questions or you want more information you can contact the Belding Department of Public Works at (616) 794-1340.
