Yesterday, we told you about a West Side boy's love of law enforcement, today there's video of a little boy who loves and lives to watch the garbage get picked up every week.

A little boy in California has a unique friendship with the garbage man, and a video of their interaction is warming hearts.

Rylan Checchia wakes up early every Tuesday morning and sits outside in the family's driveway waiting for the garbage truck to come along. And when it does, the trash collector puts on a show that is the highlight of Rylan's day.

With Rylan watching intently from his chair, the trash collector moves the truck's mechanical arm in various positions to the delight of his biggest fan.

But last week, Rylan came inside the house very upset because the truck came by, picked up the trash and drove away. It turns out there was a fill-in collector that day and Rylan was crushed. But the following week, everything was back to normal.

His mother Kimberly Checchia says, "They have a special thing." Rylan adds, "He's awesome and he's my best friend."

What were you into when you were a kid? For me, it was the trains that ran on the tracks in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, none of the engineers gave me a ride or hit their horn for me when I watched. They just yelled at me for being too close to the tracks.
