Brazilian City Hires Batman to Fight Crime
The phrases "dress the part" and "dress for success" must have been mantras for Brazilian man, André Luiz Pinheiro. The 50 year old retired soldier who dresses up as Batman for kids' parties and other events now has a job as... Batman. The Brazilian city of Taubaté has hired Pinheiro to wear his Bat-costume to help patrol their dangerous neighborhoods.
According to Brazilian news site Ovale, crimes like murder and drug trafficking are on the rise in Taubate. Police hope that the caped crusader will serve as a positive presence and help deter crime in their troubled communities.
Pinhero seems up to take on the role of real-life caped crusader: "I am eager to know how we can work together," he said.
