Last month, indie rocker Ryan Adams shocked the crowd at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium when he performed a cover of the Bryan Adams classic “Summer of 69,” one year after he had a fan ejected from the very same venue for shouting out that exact request.

While the Internet seemed to love Ryan’s cover, how did Bryan feel about it? Well, apparently he was one of the few people that knew it was going to happen. Bryan told SFGate.com that Ryan wrote him the day before to tell him about it.

“I think it was some sort of cathartic release for him to return to that venue and play that song, as you probably know the story there,” he said. “So I think in some ways, he has been haunted by the song somewhat, which is a shame because it’s a really great song. Anyway, I’m happy he did it. He’s a great artist. And sure I’d sing one of his songs, I’m not sure which one though."

And here's the original

And how about a Taylor Swift cover...
