Do quarterbacks sporting beards play better in the NFL? According to research by West Coast Shaving, when a man is letting it grow, he’s breaking records.

There is, of course, an obvious exception to this rule, but first things first.

West Coast Shaving has been celebrating Movember, and No-Shave November, by releasing wacky statistics about facial hair, but the most interesting was this break down of NFL quarterback performance based on facial hair.

These are 2013 QB ratings from a game by game basis:

• Aaron Rodgers -- With Beard (109.6) Without Beard (93.58)
• Jay Cutler -- With Beard (88.31) Without Beard (81.98)
• Tom Brady -- With Beard (89.43) Without Beard (83.86)
• Ben Roethlisberger -- With Beard (94.25) Without Beard (80.63)
• Andrew Luck -- With Beard (88.06) Without Beard (73.00)

*Note: The best quarterback in the NFL right now, Peyton Manning, has never had facial hair in his life, so ignore that glaring anomaly.

Here's some more facial hair football stats via West Coast Shaving (apparently only the QB should have facial hair, because according to this, if everyone else does, your team sucks):
