For years people have speculated as to whether Carly Simon’s classic, “You’re So Vain,” is about Warren Beatty, and the singer says the speculation is true, sort of. In an interview with People magazine, Carly revealed that the second verse of the song is about Warren, but jokes the actor “thinks the whole thing is about him!"

Carly says the other two verses are about two different men, but for now her lips are sealed. Asked whether she ever plans to reveal the secret she said, “I don't think so," adding "at least until they know it's about them." Touché.

Mick Jagger sang background vocals on the song, and it was also believed he may have been the subject of it, especially given his penchant for hats and 'gavanting', whatever that is.

Here's a remix of the original with a newer take on the song by Carly, who still looks pretty hot at 70, I must say.
