Bart, the zombie cat, is trending on the Internet.

The "Walking Dead" or "Pet Cemetery"-like story is compelling and heartwarming enough: Bart was struck by a car. So, its owner took him to the vet, where it was pronounced dead.

But cats have nine lives, and Bart wasn't dead yet.

He clawed its way out of the grave and naturally went to a neighbor's house because, well, cats are smart and why would you go back to home to a guy who essentially buried you alive?

The neighbor informed the owner, who took the cat back to the vet in Tampa, where it's being treated for jaw and eye injuries.

Now, to the tough part.

Bart's photo has been posted on social media the world over, and, really, I didn't need to see this:

I'm not sure I would have let THAT cat back into my home. It would eat your brains.

This story reminds me of this New Christy Minstrels song, where a cat used every one of those nine lives. Clearly there was no PETA around in 1964 to protest this song.
