Ever golfed at night? I have golfed close to night time a couple of times. Once finishing up 18 holes at about 9:45 at night. The other was when a buddy lived right by an exclusive course in Portage (I won't tell you the course, but it rhymes with "The Bores") and we would jump on and play the 14th and 15th holes for free! Good times, good times. Now we are ready to golf at night for real!
The weather has broken, it's not going to be an oven, and there's lots to do in West Michigan this weekend! This is one of those weekends we dream about in February when it's 8 degrees and snowing like a big dog! Sunny and about 80 all weekend, and plenty to do! Get out and enjoy it!
A shirtless Tom Cruise? Alec Baldwin as...well NOT as Jack from 30 Rock? And all kinds of 80 hair bands and rock til you drop music? Must be Rock of Ages, the hit musical from Broadway now on the big screen! This is going to be the movie, along with the Magic Mike movie, that 98% of women in this country are going to wanna see!
It was another exciting WFGR Supermarket Sweep with Access of Kent County, Family Fare and WZZM TV 13. And for the 3rd straight year, we lost! This year, however, we did better than we have ever did. Why? The power of the chicken. Cluck!

This is good ol Fashioned Comedy all done by our local performers and the beautiful and cool Civic theater downtown GR. It's a Farce comedy, which means it's pretty silly and slapstick, right up my alley!
If no one steps up, the 40th annual Cutlerville Days fireworks show scheduled for Saturday night will be cancelled. The need for sponsors to raise the 13-ish thousand dollars to put on a good fireworks show have fallen through. This will be the first time in the 40 year history of the festival with no fireworks.
All I can think is Homer Simpson is rolling over in his beer drenched grave. Can't you hear a "Mmmmmm...Donnnuuttss...aaarrggghhh" Coming from his mouth? I'm drooling just thinking about it. Friday is "National Donut Day" and donut shops around the area are celebrating! Yum!
And WFGR will be downtown and broadcasting on Saturday! Festival of the Arts (or Festival, as the locals call it--blend in if you are from out of town or new to the area--you can thank me later) starts on Friday with food and local art and food and music and some food and kids and did I mention the food? Here's all you need to know to be ready for the start of the Summer Festival season in West Michigan!
