Nick Charles, CNN’s First Sports Anchor, Dead at 64
Sportscaster Nick Charles has died of bladder cancer at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was 64.
As CNN’s first sports anchor, his work with Fred Hickman on the nightly-roundup show ‘Sports Tonight’ sometimes drew a larger audience than even that of sports network ESPN.

Peter Falk, Star of ‘Columbo,’ Dead at 83
Actor Peter Falk, who for decades played the titular character on the detective telepic series ‘Columbo,’ died Thursday night at his home in Beverly Hills, CA. He was 83.
Falk had been suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s, which was first made public in December 2008, according to the AP. The actor “died peacefully,” his family said in a statement.

Joe Perry Says No Idol Gig For Aerosmith
According to RTT News, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry says that Aerosmith will not be playing live on the American Idol finale next week.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Perry says they were never formally asked to play the show. He went on to say, "Brad has gig that night with "Hendrix Experience". Its not logistically possible".
