White House Releases President Obama’s Summer Playlists [Video]

President Obama is not only the Leader of the Free World, but he seems to have a killer taste in music, too.

"Due to popular request, here are my vacation playlists," Obama tweeted, along with a link to two Spotify playlists. Obama's tastes range from classic soul from The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and Van Morrison to modern day soul crooners like John Legend to more obscure Adult Alternative choices like Okkervil River and The Lumineers.

Take a look at the Pres' picks.

’70s Pop Meets ’80s Alt-Rock Head On In This Brilliant Mash Up [Video]

I don't usually get giddy over mashups, but this one sounded so bad on paper, I was compelled to listen, only to find it to be weirdly beautiful.

BRAT Productions has mashed up two of my favorite songs, the Commodores smaltzy '70s ballad 'Easy' with The Cure's late '80s Alternative hit, 'Just Like Heaven'.

Keith Richards is Not a Fan of ‘Sgt. Peppers’ [Video]

The Beatles’ 'Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' was voted the best album of all time by Rolling Stone, won the Grammy for Album of the Year, and is seemingly beloved by everyone. Everyone, that is, aside from Keith Richards.

Throwback Thursday: The Top 10 Songs From The Summer of 1984 [Video]

I've argued the point here that 1984 may have been one of the greatest years for pop music in American history, and when compiling this list, it kind of confirms my point.

When songs like Night Ranger's 'Sister Christian', ZZ Top's 'Legs' and Scandal's 'The Warrior' can't even come close to cracking the Top Ten Summer Songs list from that year, it had to have been a good summer for tunes.

The Doobie Brothers File Lawsuit Over Their Name [Video]

The Doobie Brothers have filed a lawsuit against a cover band over the use of their name. The 70s rockers are suing folk-rock cover duo Doobie Decibel System (DDS) suggesting the duo’s name is “confusingly similar” to theirs.

While they may have a point, you gotta love the name 'Doobie Decibel System', don't you? It puts terms invoking sound, libraries and getting high into one beautiful little box.

The Eight-Hour Workday May Be Thing of the Past

The forty hour work week is a Michigan creation. Henry Ford created it so his workers would have more time to drive around in his new invention, the automobile.

But apparently the forty hour work week is about as common these days as the Dolly Parton song, 'Nine To Five'. That is, you rarely hear about it.
