Yep, this ship has sailed.   If you were watching TV anytime between 1973 and 2006 you know that Weekday mornings at 11AM you'd see this guy.  I watched this show with my brother, grandma, mother, friends, neighbors and others I'm sure I've forgotten...

From the archives--seems even good ol' Saint Nick is stressed out this time of year too. What could the jolly fat man in the red suit use to calm his jangled nerves? Maybe a mani and a pedi? How bout a snort? A relaxing massage from Mrs. Claus? Nope. None of the above.

Yep, we've come a LONG way since this incredible simplistic toy. The worst part about this - it's totally addictive, yet totally stupid at the same time!    So, I say good riddence to this thing - "Ring Toss" or whatever you want to call this thing...

Today we go back and visit 1989 - Can you even rent VHS tapes anymore?  Can you even buy VHS players news?   I still have a PILE of stuff I have saved on VHS, and bought a fancy machine that will easily burn them on DVD...

Some sad news today. Danny Devito and Rhea Pearlman have announced their split after a whopping 30 years of marriage. Kind of sad, as I always really enjoyed them both, especially Devito.

It was 50 years ago that the world got a look at Johnny Carson as the host of The Tonight Show. Groucho Marx introduced him for the first time, even though Ed McMahon was the sidekick, as he was for all 50 years of the show. The Tonight Show started in 1954 with Steve Allen as host, but it was Johnny who took it over and made it "Carson"
