NBA Season Cancelled? [POLL]

Super Fan Gives The Home Run Ball Back

Dave Huyette and his friend Jeremy Reiland were ready and waiting in the the outfield bleacher seats at the World Series game 6, just in case someone hit a game winning home run.  It happened in the the eleventh inning when David Freese came up and hit the walk off home run to give the Cardinals the win in game six.

Dave Huyett and Jeremy Reiland jumped over the fence to the grassy area and jumped on the ball expecting to be mobbed by several fans looking for the ball.

11-Year-Old Benched For Scoring Too Many Touchdowns

I'm pretty old school when it comes to competition and sports. I don't get the  "everybody wins" crap that has lead to not keeping score in childrens' athletics. What's it teaching them? In the real world, sometimes you get your butt kicked. You don't get awards for just showing up-- performance matters.  So I was kind of shocked to hear of yet another restriction placed on kid athletes to keep the playing field level. Recently, an 11 year old football player was benched for being too good.

Fallen Former Red Wing Remembered In Traverse City

As many NHL players head over to Europe during the summer to play in other leagues, such players as Defenseman Ruslan Salei, former assistant coach Brad McCrimmon and Wings prospect Stefan Liv, who has been playing here in Grand Rapids with the Griffins along with 40 other players were killed Friday September 9th in a plane crash near a river just north of Moscow.  The Kontinental Hockey League's "Lokomotiv" hockey team icluded such NHL stars as Pavol Demitra along with Salei.
