Move over Scrooge and Grinch. Krampus is coming to town and he doesn't do that coal thing.

So even though I've heard the legend of Krampus before, that doesn't make this trailer any less scary.

My memory of the legend is a bit sketchy, so I went to that bastion of knowledge wikipedia and this is the opening paragraph.

In German-speaking Alpine folklore, Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure. According to traditional narratives around the figure, Krampus punishes children during the Christmas season who had misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards well-behaved ones with gifts. Regions in the Austrian diaspora feature similar figures and, more widely, Krampus is one of a number of Companions of Saint Nicholas in regions of Europe.

As I'm not overly fond of scary movies / stories that's all I needed to read.
