The city of Grand Rapids has officially begun collecting Christmas trees, if you're ready to part with yours.

Starting Wednesday, December 26 through February 1, Grand Rapids residents can leave their tagged trees at their curb for pickup or drop them off for free at a drop of site.

The drop off sites are located at Riverside Park, MacKay-Jaycees Park, Lincoln Park, and Huff Park.

If you choose to leave your tree at the curb, you must attach a $2.50 bulk yard waste tag (the tag is purple.) Trees will be picked up on your regular refuse pickup day.

Tags are available at City Hall as well as some local retailers.
