Detroit Lions fans rejoice! It looks like we (might) finally have a reliable kicker!

On Tuesday evening, it was announced that the Lions have signed former Denver Broncos kicker Matt Prater to a one-year contract.

The Lions released Alex Henery on Monday after he managed to only make one out of five kicks over two games since joining the team. So far this season, Lions kickers are only one of nine overall on kicks of 30 yards or more.

Prater comes with his own problems, though. He was released by the Broncos last week following a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. The good news is that the suspension is over and he'll be able to start for Detroit immediately.

Prater has been one of the NFL's best kickers over the past few seasons and even earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2013.
