The Detroit Tigers may not have won their game with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday, But Bill Dugan did okay. He hauled in five foul balls during the game.

Now that's something you don’t see every day—a fan catching more balls than the team’s first basemen.

But that is exactly what happened yesterday, in Detroit, for uber fan Bill Dugan. He caught a grand total of five foul balls during Detroit’s game Monday afternoon.

It was not the first time Dugan has hauled in multiple game balls during a Tiger game. But it's the most balls he's grabbed during the game itself. He's grabbed four a few times starting in 2002.

"My record's eight — four during a game and four during batting practice," he told the Detroit Free Press.

So he's not surprised he was able to bring down five in one afternoon.

“No. It used to, years ago, when I’d get like two in a game,” Dugan, a Roseville native, told the Oakland Press. “One time there was one, Dmitri Young hit one, and then the immediate pitch right after, fouled off another one right at me. I think that was more of a crowd deal than it is today.”

While most would call it “luck,” I would have to call it “Yeah he’s like a regular Cam Newton,” right?

Wrong, because after the feat Dugan actually was interviewed by ESPN. And he spoke to the reporters.

He told them he no longer takes the balls home with him, but istead he hands them out to the kids sitting in his section.
