Each year for graduation, students decorate their caps, but this year Ionia High School students are not allowed to.  Principal Ben Gurk announced to the students about the new rule.  He says that if students show up to graduation with decorated caps, their caps will be taken away from them.  Gurk says that graduation is a formal event and is supposed to be classy, but with decorated caps it takes away from the formal occasion.

Many students are upset over the principal's new rule. They do not think this is fair and the students say if they bought the cap they should do with it as they please. Some even tribute the cap to their loved ones and this year they can't do that. The students created a petition to the school board in hopes of changing the rule for graduation.
