The Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company visits the Dog Story Theater here in Grand Rapids Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 11, 12 and 13, as Michigan’s professional, touring Shakespeare company presents Twelfth Night!

Twelfth Night follows the adventures of Viola, a young noblewoman who is separated from her twin brother, Sebastian, during a shipwreck. Believing her brother is dead, Viola disguises herself as a boy and enters the service of Orsino, Duke of Illyria. Mistaken identities, rivalries in love, and practical jokes abound as Viola tries to navigate the world of Illyria.
This performance of Shakespeare's beloved comedy is part of the "Bard on the Run" series, Pigeon Creek Shakespeare's annual experiment in Renaissance rehearsal periods. Shakespeare’s acting companies didn’t have the lengthy rehearsal periods that we do in modern theater. Renaissance actors sometimes learned and performed new plays in the course of 5 or 6 days!  And at Pigeon Creek, they do it in 3 days!! Bard on the Run productions feature the company's trademark fast-paced, accessible performance style with the element of excitement and improvisation that comes from never knowing exactly what's going to happen next!
Tickets are $6 for students and seniors, $12 for adults.  For complete information, just click on Dog Story Theater  HERE.
Performances this Friday and Saturday, January 11 and 12, are at 8:00 p.m. and January 13 at 3:00 p.m.
