Doobies, Peter Frampton Team Up For Clapton Cover [Video]

'70s rock icons the Doobie Brothers and Peter Frampton combined their forces to record a version of 'Let It Rain'. And it's fabulous!

Hey, if you have a lot of free time due to the pandemic shutting down most rock tours, you might as well enjoy it by jamming to some classic songs.

That's exactly what the Doobie Brothers and Peter Frampton did.

'Let It Rain' has long been one of my Eric Clapton faves, which hails from his early '70s self titled album. In fact, it was the third and final single from the album, which also yielded the hits 'After Midnight' and 'Bottle Of Red Wine'.

Strangely, the original was a collaborative effort as well, with the lyrics being co-written by Bonnie Bramlett, and Stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills and Nash fame knocking out a guitar solo.

The new one features Frampton alternating lyrics with Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons of the Doobies, and some powerful instrumental stuff by both Frampton and Doobies guitarists Johnston, Simmons and John McFee.
