Actor Eli Wallach, best known for his role as Tuco in the Clint Eastwood classic spaghetti Western 'The Good, The Bad And The Ugly,' passed away on June 24, the New York Times reports. He was 98 years old.

According to Deadline, Wallach's TV and film career spanned more than 60 years. Although he was never nominated for an Academy Award, in 2010 the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded him an honorary Oscar, lauding him as “the quintessential chameleon, effortlessly inhabiting a wide range of characters, while putting his inimitable stamp on every role.”

Wallach often appeared on the Broadway stage alongside his wife, Anne Jackson, and the couple became known for their theater work. Some of Wallach's notable film roles include 'The Godfather: Part III' and his part as Clark Gable’s sidekick in 'The Misfits.' More recently, Wallach was featured alongside Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and Jude Law in 2006's 'The Holiday.'
