Will “Game of Thrones” be big winners at the Emmys tonight, or will they fall to competitors like “Breaking Bad” or “Downton Abbey?”

“Game of Thrones” has the lion’s share of nominations with 19 – including Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Peter Dinklage, and Outstanding Drama Series. We’ll see when the Seth Myers-hosted 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards airs tonight on NBC. My predictions for the big awards are after the jump.

It's a golden age for TV, so much so that it's hard to pinpoint just one deserving winner in any of the major award categories up for grabs at this year's Emmy Awards.  Television, thanks to the adventurous spirit of cable networks like HBO, who continued their stellar winning streak of new shows with "True Detective" and Broadband provider Netflix, who threw out sizzling new seasons to their two powerhouse series " House of Cards" and "Orange Is The New Black".

Here's my call as to who will walk off with the big awards at tonight's ceremony:

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES: Julianna Margulies, "The Good Wife", CBS. This season has been nothing short of spectacular for the series, and Margulies' character, Alicia, is the main reason why the show is especially good with slow burning episodes.

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES: Bryan Cranston, "Breaking Bad", AMC. A character who could go from sympathetic to despicable in moment's notice, Bryan's Walter White was constantly trying to hold on to normalcy, while sliding dangerously out of control.

LEAD ACTRESS IN A COMEDY: Edie Falco, "Nurse Jackie", Showtime. I know she won't win this, and it's hard for me to even refer to Nurse Jackie's dark take on balancing life and addiction "comedy", but like Cranston above, Falco does a great job eliciting feelings for someone who is at their best, awful. Bringing humanity to such a difficult subject, I think this show is underrated, and Falco's acting unrewarded.

LEAD ACTOR IN A COMEDY: Louis CK, "Louie". A show that will probably win for it's crisp writing, needs to also pay a nod to CK's acting, which holds together through scenes that walk into some cringe inducing topics.

BEST COMEDY SERIES: All of the nominees are deserving, but "Louie" goes places nobody else dares to, and succeeds where nobody else dares to, mainly treat fatherhood in a very real light.

BEST DRAMA SERIES: Again, all of the nominated shows are great, and most of them were able to be highly unpredictable, but "Game of Thrones" had it all this season, with its many plot twists, murders, heroines, and battle scenes. Close, but it edges "Breaking Bad" and "True Detective" on this scene alone.
