One of the best “coming of age” films, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, premiered August 13, 1982- 32 years ago today.

Based on the book by Cameron Crowe, the same guy who wrote the semi-autobiographical Almost Famous (seriously, why is Cameron Crowe so cool?!), Fast Times at Ridgemont High was based on Crowe's own experiences as an undercover reporter for Rolling Stone magazine at Clairemont High School in San Diego, California.

Who can forget the infamous pool scene with Phoebe Cates? Or the whimsical musings of pre-Oscar winning Sean Penn as "Jeff Spicoli"?

One of my favorite parts in Fast Times is when "Damone" give his five-point plan for first dates: "Whenever possible, put on side-one of Led Zeppelin IV."

And I've said it many times- Fast Times has a highly underrated soundtrack. The Cars, Jackson Browne, and Oingo Boingo to name a few!

So do yourself a favor and watch Fast Times at Ridgemont High tonight- you won't regret it!
