Minnesota authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a black man in the Minneapolis suburb of Falcon Heights dead last night. Reports say 32-year-old Philando Castile was in a car with his girlfriend and her daughter when they were pulled over for a broken taillight.

His girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, says police asked Castille for his license and registration. Reynolds says Castile informed officers he had a firearm and a conceal-and-carry permit. She says when Castile reached for his license, the officer shot him four times. She broadcast the last moments of his life on Facebook Live. St. Anthony Police have confirmed that officers pulled over a vehicle at about 9pm and that “shots were fired” during the traffic stop, and that a handgun was recovered at the scene.

At one point in the video, Reynolds maintains her composure as an officer appears to be very emotional. “I told him not to reach for it!” he screams. “I told him to get his hand out.” Reynolds replies, “You told him to get his I.D., sir, his driver’s license.” She also confirms that she would keep her hands in view and that she would follow commands. Local officials have so far, denied all knowledge of the video circulating online - the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating.
