Ferris Coffee & Nut Buys American Seating Building in Grand Rapids

On Monday, Ferris Coffee & Nut Company announced it has purchased the American Seating building and property at 601 7th Street NW in Grand Rapids.

Ferris Coffee will use the manufacturing space to expand operations.

The building was constructed in 1993. It is contains 165,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space on nine acres with parking.

Ferris Coffee currently has a distribution center at 4050 Roger B. Chaffee Blvd in Wyoming. Their headquarters, manufacturing and retail space are at 227 Winter Avenue NW in Grand Rapids.

Ferris Coffee's retail store and coffee shop will remain at the Winter Avenue location as the company moves into the new facility over the next 12 months. Future plans for the existing retail store and coffee shop are undetermined, but the hope is to keep retail on the city's west side, in addition to the company's downtown coffee shop at 40 Pearl St NW.
