Animal Planet's "Finding Bigfoot" had me hooked with one commercial--  one of the show's "bigfoot hunters" whispers, "I do think there's a 'squatch in these woods..." all Blair Witch Project-y into the camera. ( "Squatch" being short for "sasquatch"-- of course.) If you're not familiar with the show, as you might have guessed, it centers around the search for the mystical creature known as "Bigfoot" in cites and towns across the US. Apparently there have been some  "sightings" here in Michigan, because "Finding Bigfoot" just wrapped shooting in areas around Gladwin State Forest, Houghton Lake, and West Branch.

According to MLive, filming began April 5 in Houghton Lake town hall, where witnesses shared stories about their Bigfoot sightings.

The sasquatch-hunting team of Cliff Barackman, Matt Moneymaker, Ranae Holland and James "Bobo" Fray then took off on  horseback, while helicopters with mounted cameras followed.

"Finding Bigfoot" airs Sunday nights at 10pm on Animal Planet--  no word yet on when the episode shot in Michigan will air.

What do you think-- Could there be a 'squatch in Michigan's woods?
