I know there's a lot of football to be played, and that the first College Football Playoff Rankings are meaningless in the long run, but that doesn't mean there isn't a whole boatload of bat crap crazy in these ratings.

Apparently, there's a myth that the SEC is better than the rest of us. One that you need to explain to your kids.

If you think debate season began months ago between the Democrats and Republicans—think again. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Because after last night the real debates begin.

Which ones? The College Football Playoff Selection Committee released the first CFP Poll of the 2015 season. And given we still have eleven undefeated teams—that means seven teams are going to be left out of the top four that will make the playoff, right?

Wrong already because eight undefeated teams are on the outside as a team with one loss is in the top four.

#1 Clemson, #2 LSU, and #3 Ohio State.

And the fourth seed??? It’s Alabama! Yes, that same Crimson Tide team that lost to Ole Miss this season. And Ole Miss has since gone on to lose two games!!

Oh I can hear them screaming from all over the country—and ya gotta love it almost as much as you gotta love College Football.

Oh and on the outside looking in are #5 Notre Dame, #6 Baylor, #7 Michigan State, and #8 TCU.

The 4 seeds will play on New Year’s Eve with 1 vs 4 and 2 vs. 3 at the Orange Bowl in Miami and the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. The Championship Game is scheduled for Monday, January 11, 2016.

I can understand Notre Dame being ranked ahead of the Spartans, seeing how their only loss is to top ranked Clemson, but ALABAMA! Hell to the NO!

There seems to be a myth that the SEC is some kind of superconference, even though I thought Ohio State stomped on that notion last year.

Iowa of the Big Ten is also undefeated and getting no love in the rankings. So this Iowa fan gathered his kids together and recorded this hilarious video about how the SEC myth is just that A MYTH!!

Hang in there, Spartan fans -- if Sparty wins out, I have to believe they will be in the final four. Good luck!
