Oh sure the next time you go to your favorite fishing spot, you could bring a fishing pole, or some rope with a powerful magnet attached.

Works out pretty well. I mean, not quite as impressive a haul as snorkeling treasure hunter guy. Still not bad, take the good tools to a pawn shop, take the scrap metal to a place that buys scrap metal. Assuming that's a real thing I didn't just make up.

Fishing with a N52 grade Neodymium Magnet - Pretty addicting

I was going to say something about how this guy gave up his metal fishing spot now it'll be crawling with people who need some new used tools, then I remembered this Mississippi river is REALLY long. I could see doing this at the lake my father and I used to go fishing at when I was a kid. There was a dam we fished from that, now I realize was a dam good fishing spot.

Maybe the next time I go visit my family I should go to the lake and throw a magnet in the water and see what treasures I fish out. Who knows, it might end up being the fishing pole that I threw into the lake when I was 9. Or, maybe, just maybe, an alligator that swallowed an anchor.
