The unofficial end of summer, Labor Day weekend, is fast approaching and school will be starting soon, so here's a to do list to accomplish before the summer slips away.

5. Beautify A Trashcan -- Avenue of the Arts on Division Street has two more opportunities for you to paint a mural for the downtown trashcans. This Wednesday and Friday, stop by their office at 307 S. Division, grab a paint brush and make GR a little more beautiful. Here's what mine looks like, I'm sure you could one at least as good as mine.

4. Catch the final Movie In The Park -- The last movies of the season hit the big screen at Ah Nab Awen Park in front of the Gerald R. Ford Museum this Friday. The pre show entertainment starts at 7:00pm, with the movies starting at dusk, with 'Jumanji' and 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' being the double feature. Add to the fun and dress like your favorite 'Bueller' character, as long as it's not Mr. Rooney.

3. Take in a Whitecaps game -- There are just eight regular season Whitecaps games left, so get out to Fifth Third Park in Comstock Park and take in a Whitecaps theme night like Tiger Friday this Friday featuring an appearance by former Tiger outfielder Vince Coleman or Dr. Who Night this Saturday.

2. Make it to the final Party In Cherry Park -- The East Hills Council of Neighbors invite you out to the final party this Wednesday with music from Cabildo. It's family friendly, so pack a picnic, bring a chair and a cooler full of local craft beer and unwind. Cherry Park is at 725 Cherry Street SE.

1. Hit Food Truck Thursdays At The GRAM -- Thursdays means Food Trucks parked out in fornt of the Grand Rapids Museum of Art, so grab some lunch and then enjoy the music of the 'Relax at Rosa' concert series through Septmeber 15 at Rosa Parks Circle. This Thursday it's the Boot Strap Boys.
