Founders threw a party to raise money to put the rapids back in Grand Rapids and it was a ton of fun, and, raised a lot of money!

We took over Ah-Nab-Awen Park in Downtown Grand Rapids for the first-ever Tribute on the Grand, a fundraiser for Grand Rapids Whitewater. Featuring live cover bands, beer and games for all-ages, this event raised over $200,000 for the cause.

Even though there was a threat of inclement weather 'Tribute on the Grand' ended up raising over $200,000!

That's a good chunk of change but that old river still needs some help. Who knew rocks were so expensive!

This time it'll be on Saturday August 19th -- same place as last time Ah-Nab-Awen Park.

Should be loads of fun.

What's not to love? Booze, food, and music! Oh and bringing the rapids back to downtown.

I wonder how loud the rapids will end up being when they're done.

Aren't rapids usually loud? I mean if we're going from this ... to this. The whole vibe of downtown might change a bit. Right?

Maybe it would make it cooler. I dunno.
