Frank Sinatra Jr., son of the legendary singer Frank Sinatra, died yesterday from what's being described as a "massive heart attack" in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was 72.  According to a Florida news station, Frank Jr., who had been in town several days rehearsing for his "Sinatra Sings" tour, had become ill earlier in the day and went to the hospital, where he died.

Frank Jr. was probably best known for his bizarre kidnapping at age 19, which strangely enough involved surf rocker Dean Torrence from Jan and Dean. He was held for ransom, and after his father paid $240,000, was found safe and walking the streets of Bel Air.

A performer in his own right, Frank, Jr. went on to become his father’s musical director and conductor.

The Sinatra family mourn the untimely passing of their son, brother, father, uncle, Frank Sinatra, Jr. of cardiac arrest...
