Oakland Athletics’ Josh Reddick Uses ’80s Hit ‘Careless Whisper’ As His Walk-Up Song [Video]
Baseball players take great pride in their walk-up songs, the tunes which play when they’re going up to bat.
Most of the time, it’s a rock song used to pump them up before their at bat.
When asked why he did this, Reddick said the answer was pretty simple. He heard the song before the game the other day and thought it would be funny. He played well that game, so he did it again. He played well again, so it stuck.
Baseball players are superstitious. So, we can assume that Reddick will keep using the song as long as he keeps playing well.
