And we're not talking just a slice, but a WHOLE PUMPKIN PIE!

If you help Michigan Blood replenish the blood supplies this holiday season, SpartanNash will reward you with a Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie.

There are plenty of reasons to give besides free pie, and I have a great story inside to inspire you to give the gift of life.

Countless cancer patients, trauma victims, premature babies and many others are in need of blood and donating at Michigan Blood’s Thanks For Giving event could be the reason someone gets to spend another holiday with their family.

“You don’t always see the impact blood donation has,” says Elizabeth Mayfield, a Bay City donor whose daughter received blood after being born premature. “But it saved my daughter’s life and gave me my family. I hope my blood gives someone the same opportunity I had to keep my family.”

“Holidays are very challenging and we would like to take one task off your checklist, the pumpkin pie; but, also add one, saving lives, ” says Carleen Crawford, director of community relations at Michigan Blood.

As a small token of appreciation, everyone who attempts to donate during Michigan Blood’s Thanks for Giving event will receive a free pumpkin pie donated by Family Fare Supermarkets.

“SpartanNash is committed to giving back to the communities where we live, work, and play,” says Meredith Gremel, director, corporate affairs at SpartanNash. “For the second year in a row, we’re proud to partner with Michigan Blood through our Family Fare Supermarkets. Our pumpkin pies are a way to say thank you to generous blood donors for taking time out of their busy Thanksgiving plans to help save lives throughout Michigan.”
