Giggles the Pig Running For Mayor of Flint [Video]

A pig named Giggles is running for mayor of Flint, Michigan, promising to “put the pork back in government.” Michael Ewing, a defense attorney, launched the campaign for Giggles, his one-year-old pet pig.

Ewing started a Facebook group listing Giggles’ qualifications. It should be noted that Giggles has no criminal history and that he “will take no money from special interests,” “has never been fiscally irresponsible,” “supports police" and “has never missed an important deadline.”

The campaign comes after the city announced that the mayoral primary ballot would be write-in only. Ewing says the campaign is an attempt to bring public attention and transparency to the race. Competing mayoral candidate Eric Mays has voiced some concerns about Giggles. Mays asked, “Does the pig know about economic development? Does a pig know about quality water?"
